Shazam Your iPhone

If you are a big music lover, check out Shazam. It has the potential to revolutionize how people discover and buy music. The idea behind Shazam is quite simple. Whenever you hear a song playing and can't identify it—at home or a bar, at a friend's house, on the car radio—you activate the Shazam application on your iPhone. It "listens" to the song for about 30 seconds, then sends a text message to your phone identifying the artist and title. Shazam's has a database that contains audio fingerprints for nearly 5 million songs. Therefore, the odds of a positive ID is quite good. You can download Shazam onto your iPhone for free from the App Store. Beside being an industry standard, Shazam fully integrates with and complements the iPhone's native environment, allowing you to seamlessly discover, buy and share tunes simply by holding your iPhone to music for just a few seconds.

Kindle 2 Set for Release

It has been rumored that Amazon’s Kindle 2 will go on sale 'early next quarter.' Based on rumors, it is slightly longer and not as thick as the original Kindle. Some of the button–related problems and bugs (such as pages turning on their own accord) have been fixed. The buttons and user interface definitely needed an overhaul -- and we hope that Amazon will add an audio reader for vision-impaired users or those who like audio books. Also scheduled for the first half of 2009 is a larger-screen student version. If you are not willing to wait, check out the Sony's PRS-700 Digital Reader. It's an interesting competitor to the Kindle. And for iPhone users, you must check out eReader.
